He was predeceased by: his former wife Mary Carter; his son Edward Carter Jr.; his stepsons, Timothy Beal, Tyrone Carter and Ronnie Carter; and his siblings, Alberta Camacho, John Wesley Carter, Emily Jean Griffen, Winifred Carter, Franklin Carter, Louis Carter, Nelson Carter and Rodney Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila Carter; his sister Shirley Johnson; his daughter Catherine Carter; his stepchildren, Daniel Beal, Sharon Ward (Bernard), Shelley Beal and Charmaine Aponte; his grandchildren, Camilla, Darron, Christopher, Rashawn, Shaquila and Denise Carter; and his great grandchildren, Devario, Cassiel and Genesis. He is also survived by extended family and many friends.
The military honors will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Western Ny National Cemetery (1254 Indian Falls Rd, Corfu, NY 14036).
