We are sad to announce that, on February 9, 2026, Oliver Wayne Bortle Jr. (Corfu, New York) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph (Beth), Wayne (Stacey), Cheryl (Sean), Amy Jo (Marty) and Kim; his siblings, Carol (Jared), Cindy, Pam and Jerry (Hafdis); his granddaughters, Katelyn, Maya and Violet; his close friend Howard; and his pets, Rosie and Bo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), an organization dedicated to supporting America's veterans, promoting patriotism, and providing programs for youth and future leaders.
