He was predeceased by : his parents, Arthur Jones and Gladys Jones (Knowles); his wife Barbara Wheaton; his son Larry Paul Jones; and his brothers, Jim, David, Whitney and Roger Jones.

He is survived by : his children, Debbie (Sean) of Asheboro, NC, Jerry (Chrip) of Winston-Salem, NC and Jack (Gail) of Valdosta, GA; his grandchildren, Patrick (Sarah), Marcus (Loren), Sarah, Heather, Misty and Travis; his sister Wilhelmina "Billie"; and also Sarah. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
