He was predeceased by : his parents, Ernest Gerow and Dora Gerow; his wife Jane Gerow; his former life partner Gladys Crawford-Gerow; and his siblings, Mervin Gerow, Harold Gerow and Claire Gerow.

He is survived by : his children, Robert Gerow, Jr., James Gerow, Jeffery Gerow, Sr., Marsha Ritchie, Christopher Gerow, Melody Gerow-Brown, Doris Smith and Elizabeth Sellard; and his sister Sandy Smither. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Carpenter's Funeral Home (14 E Pulteney St, Corning, NY 14830).
