She was predeceased by: her parents, Louie Swamp and Anna Swamp (Casey); her brothers, Arthur and Richard "Dick" Swamp; her granddaughter Rikki Oakes; her nieces and nephews, Arthur Swamp Jr., Paul Swamp, Shirley and Sharon Swamp; and her cousin Isabel Garrow.
She is survived by: her children, Curtis Oakes (Doreen) of Cambridge Ontario, Richard "Rick" Oakes Jr. of Akwesasne, Nanette Oakes of Akwesasne, Lynell Cook (Hakie) of Akwesasne and Ross Oakes (Dari Gibson) of Akwesasne; and her nieces and nephews, Randy Swamp (Merideth), Carson Swamp (Judy), Lincoln Swamp, Raymond Swamp (Tessa), Theresa Swamp and Aymee Thompson. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in Ida's name may be made to Iakhihsohtha's activity fund.
