With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John J O'Connell of Cornwall, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 30, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph O'Connell and Alice O'Connell; his wife Diane O'Connell; his grandson Robert Crean; Alice and Joseph O'Connell.
He is survived by: his children, Mary (Ira Adelman), Betty Jo Armstrong, Joseph (Sabrina O'Connell), Carolyn O'Connell (Stephen Holmes) and Craig (Sheila O'Connell); his grandchildren, Ryan Armstrong (Heather), Kristin Freeman (Mike), Nicole O'Connell Caitlin (Eric), Aria, Bradley and Alice O'Connell; his great grandchildren, Rory Christensen, Layla and Ivy Ream; and his close friend Bella.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home (28 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting, NJ 08759). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in John's memory.
