He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Hatch and Ruby Hatch; and his nephew Gregory Grant. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his daughters, Shanti Blatnik (Frank) of Eastlake, OH, Pragya Mishra of Westfield, IN, Kamala Johnson (Jay) of Snellville, GA and Allison Edgecomb of Madison, AL; his grandchildren, Aliyah Johnson, Lydia Blatnik, Sophia Blatnik, Jada Johnson, Susanna Hernandez (Grant), Scott Blatnik, Jaheim Johnson, Gaurav Adhikari, Asha Adhikari, Katia Blatnik, Jason Edgecomb, Makai Johnson and Karissa Edgecomb; and his sister Barbara (Gary).
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the United Presbyterian Church (25 Church St, Cortland, NY 13045). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in his memory to an organization that was important to Doug because of the years spent in Nepal.
