With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Frederick Charles Spafford of Cortland, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 12, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Spafford and Doris Rowe; and his siblings, William Spafford and Dorothy Stephenson. He is survived by: his wife Melissa J. Hurlbert Spafford; his children, Keith Spafford of Virginia, Vickie Hess (Jack) of Homer, Karen Spafford of Cortland, Randy Spafford (Tamara Dunham) of Cortland and Missy Spafford (Jay Ludwig) of Cortland; and his grandchildren, Cale Spafford of Virginia Beach, VA, Crystal Spafford (Jared Manning) of Whitsett, NC, Brad Spafford (Jackie) of Virginia, John Anderson (Erin Ladoceour) of Nedrow, Jason Anderson (Ashley) of Jamesville, Katlyn Anderson (Matt Olmstead) of Cortland, Ian Spafford (Emily) of Newfield and Nicole Williams (Mike Stranahan) of Cortland.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Home of Vickie Hess (10 Elm Ave, Homer, NY 13077).
Memorial contributions in Mr. Spafford's name may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
