Maria leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Maria’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Maria will carry forward her memory in their hearts.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Achille Iacovone and Rocchetta Burrasca Iacovone; her sister Anna Faraoni; and her brother-in-law Edward Finlay. She is survived by: her son Franco Spaziani (Ann Marie Capria) of Cortland; her grandchildren, Dominic Spaziani and Julia Spaziani; and her sisters, Dora Leopardi (Alfonso) of Cortland and Egidia Finlay of Cortland. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church (50 Pomeroy St, Cortland, NY 13045). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
