It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roger W. Batchelder of Cortland, New York, who passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Roger W. Batchelder to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Stewart Batchelder and Dorothy Batchelder; his wife Shirley Batchelder; his close friend Marion Hoffmire; and his sisters, Jean Haley and Arria Newbold.
He is survived by: his daughters, Laurie Snyder (Tom) and Linda Riehlman (Lonny); his grandchildren, Ashely Short and William Moench IV; his stepgrandchildren, Shannon Coffin, Dawn Blumer and Bryan Riehlman; his great grandchildren, Nola Short and Finnegan Short; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Dylan, Zackary, Hunter, Tyler, Brady and Travis; and his caregivers, Margaret, Mandy, Gary, Bill and Crystal.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home (9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland, NY 13045). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
