He was predeceased by: his brother Jay Winney; his parents, James Winney and Jean Winney; and his parents-in-law, Raymond and Mary Lemke.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Winney; his daughter Laura Brueckman (Robert); his grandchildren, Logan and Hannah; and his siblings, Eileen Stoos (late Raymond), Richard (Rochelle), Patrick (Danielle) and Jeff (Patty). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
