He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Monnat and Anna Monnat (Fetterly); his wife Dolores Ann "Laurie" Hirsch of Stephen's Church; his son Anthony; and his siblings, Norbert and Mary K. Gardener.
He is survived by: his children, William E. Monnat of Croghan, Stephen G. Monnat (Jane) of Croghan, Peter J. Monnat (Melody) of Croghan, Gilbert J. Monnat (Gretchen) of Croghan, Susan E. Gydesen (Brad) of Croghan and Nancy C. Widrick (Rod) of Croghan; and his sisters-in-law, Cheryl Steiner of Clinton and Connie Hirsch of Lowville. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Stephen's Church Restoration Fund or to the Croghan VFD.
