It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan B. Schurr (Cuba, New York), who passed away on December 11, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clayton E. Salzman and Marion Salzman (Schmidt); her husband Kenneth Schurr; her sons, Edward and Kenneth Schurr (Darlene); and her siblings, Paul, Howard Salzman and Eileen Curto.
She is survived by: her children, Walter Schurr (Patricia) of Friendship, Barbara Hovey (Greg) of Amity Lake, Joan Vandewalke of Houston, Texas and Kay Jameson of Houston, Texas; and her brother Clayton Salzman, Jr. (Pat) of Alden. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc. (9 Bull, Cuba, NY 14727). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
