He was predeceased by: his son Norman Deinhardt; his son-in-law Jake Midkiff; and his siblings, Irving Burkhardt, Phillip Burkhardt (late Elaine), Donald Burkhardt (late Barbara), John Burkhardt (late Penny) and Marguerite Landow (late Charles).
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Burkhardt (Beiter); and his children, Barbara Krazmien (Daniel), James Jr. Burkhardt (Wendy), Joseph Burkhardt, Thomas Burkhardt (Kandi), Alice Calmes (Brandon) and Cathleen Karpik (Paul). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to OLV Charities/Human Services, Genesee County Hospice or the Darien Fire Co. Jim was an Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Trustee.
