She was predeceased by: her parents, John Schako and Tillie Schako (Tekla Gambal); her pet Noopy; her husband Edward T. Byer Jr.; her son-in-law Gary Peck; her father-in-law Edward Byer, Sr.; Charlotte Alston (Ed), Marjorie Whitcomb (Herb), Helen Alston (Jack), Rosemary Sweetser (Jess), Harriett Byer and Marilyn Husselbeck.

She is survived by: her children, Deborah "Debbie" Byer Peck (late Gary) of Copake, Brad Byer (Flora Hurteau) of Albany, John Byer (Malcolm "Mac" Lippert) of Jericho, Vermont and Lisa Byer (Mike Baker) of Bennington, Vermont.; her grandchildren, Ava Byer of Atlanta, GA, Elliott Byer (Miranda) of Troy, Adam Peck (Lynn) of Philmont and Brian Peck (Suzanne) of Brewster, NY; her great grandchildren, Brooks Byer, Aaron Peck and Tyler Peck; and her cousin Irene Cook of Plano. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and members of her extended family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Applebee Funeral Home (403 Kenwood Ave, Delmar, NY 12054). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church (35 Adams Pl, Delmar, NY 12054).
