She was predeceased by : her parents, Fletcher Robinson and Janie Robinson; her husband Capers Charleston; her siblings, Robert, Charles, Roy, James, William Robinson, Helen Bickley, Rose Robinson, Anna Hayes, Louise Adams and Mary Rorie; and her children, Nathaniel, Jerry, Skeeter, Horace Charleston and Linda Charleston.

She is survived by : her daughters, Joyce Burden (Bobby), Dorene Hankins (George), Thelma Grimes (Sean), Pearl Legrone (Tone), Stephanie Charleston and Chinon Carter. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren.
