He was predeceased by: his parents, William McCarthy and Ethel McCarthy; and his sisters, Kathleen Zuccaro and Ann Brownell (Tom). He is survived by: his wife Marie Ann McCarthy; his children, Joseph William McCarthy, Jr. (Kelly), Kathleen Marie Romo, Margaret Ann Selig (Sam), John Robert McCarthy (Lisa Daniels) and William Keeton McCarthy II (Danielle); and his sister Helen Brogan (late David). He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Applebee Funeral Home (403 Kenwood Ave, Delmar, NY 12054). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 9:30 AM at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church (35 Adams Pl, Delmar, NY 12054).
