He is survived by: his wife Mary Alexandra "Nickie" Tober; his children, Karen Machnica, Michael (Mary Ann), James, Jon Sr. and David (Suzanne); his grandchildren, Jon Jr., Tara (Tristan), Amanda, Elizabeth, Matthew, Ryan, Alex and Ellie; and his great grandchildren, Ciaran and Desi. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
