He was predeceased by : his parents, Stephania Penkalski and Edward Penkalski; his wife Roberta "Bird" Penkalski; and his son Edward Penkalski. He is survived by : his children, Cyndee Stelmach (Peter) and Eileen Penkalski (Kathy Longton); his grandchildren, Theresa Maciejewski (Dennis), Edward Penkalski IV (Marrissa), Thomas Penkalski (Heather), Nicole Stelmach (Dan Foss) and Peter Stelmach (Amanda); his great grandchildren, Lucas, Jacob, Chloe, Dakota, Sophia, Alet, MiKayla, Edward V and Bella; and his sister Estelle Bykowicz (late Joseph). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home Inc. (4929 Broadway, Depew, NY 14043). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Adalbert Basilica (212 Stanislaus St, Buffalo, NY 14212).
