He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy and Ruth; and his brother Alan. He is survived by: his children, Gary Chaples (Tammara) and Heather Wright (David); his grandchildren, Gary, Jared, David, Chris and Jeff; and his brother Andrew. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.
