He was predeceased by: his siblings, Allyn Fairman (Linda), Carl Fairman, Sherry Hansen and Nancy Ross. He is survived by: his wife Una; his children, Anna and Henry Hansen (Beatrice Goldthwait); and his sisters, Carole Maronza, Kathleen Rose and Karen Mayers (James). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

He brought his aging mother into his home, and with support from his entire family, provided love and care to her for 10 years as she battled Alzheimer's disease. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Arc Allegany-Steuben at http://www.thearcas.org.
