We are sad to announce that, on May 25, 2026, at the age of 98, Bernice Jeanette Hartz of Deposit, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Decker and Catherine Decker; her husband Justin Hartz; her daughter Jeanne Owens; her son-in-law Dennis Owens; her great grandchild Annabelle Young; and her siblings, Graydon, Sherland Decker, Florence Conners, Betty Teale, Helen Cline and Rosemary Decker.
She is survived by: her siblings, Dewey Decker (Dawn), Jack Decker (Bo) and Joanne Neer (Robert); her sons, Gregg Hartz Sr. (Pamela) and Jeffrey Hartz (Beverly); her grandchildren, Paul (Laura Young), Gregg Jr. (Susan Hartz), Nick (Kristen Hartz), Ashlea Hartz, Shannon (John Baudendistel) and Clinton Hartz (Emily Ruggiero); and her great grandchildren, Henry Young, Justin, Samantha, Emily, Breann Hartz, Macie, Averie, Kaden Hartz, Ethan, Evan, Sophie Baudendistel, Beckett, Breela Hartz and Josie Ruggiero.
