He is survived by: his wife Sherie; his children, Bethany Kleist (Jess) of Fairfield, NY, Shane Lyon (Tara) of Dolgeville, NY and Evan Lyon (Chelsea) of Dolgeville, NY; his grandson Adrian; his father-in-law Luke VanGorder II; his siblings-in-law, Diane (James Hicks) of Madison, NY, Luke VanGorder III (Chuck) of Little Falls, NY and Allen VanGorder of Little Falls, NY; his siblings, Denise (Roger Bowers) of Greer, SC, Douglas and Linda Lyon of Groveland, NY; his siblings' children, Leslie Bowers of Utica, NY, Rebecca Bowers (Harry Hill), Loriel Bowers of Greenville, Matthew Bowers of Worcester, MA, Ali Smetanka (Jacob Lyon) of Groveland, NY, Sean of Walworth, NY, Lawrence Nagele (Courtney) of Dolgeville, NY, Thomas Hicks, Tasha Hicks, Tiffany and Trevor Waterman of Madison, NY.; his close friend Gary Seeley; and his friends, Bruce Bouthillier, Kirk Young, Jeff Barton, Brian Dineen, Rick Ingrick, Dave Barnes, Todd Smith and Windber Rudi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and at 3:00 PM at the Miller-Plonka Funeral Home (30 Wolf St, Dolgeville, NY 13329). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club (697 Peckville Rd, Dolgeville, NY 13329).
