He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Lowe and Edna Trivet Lowe; his brother Robert Edward Lowe; and his sister-in-law Yvonne H. "Bonnie" Lowe. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Lowe; his children, William Lowe (Melissa Hine) and Stacy Lowe-Jonas (Hugh Jonas); his grandchildren, Jaclyn Brennan (Dylan), Richard J. Calale III and Sterling T. Calale; his stepchildren, Michael and Melissa McNaughton; his stepgrandchildren, Michaela McNaughton, Mackenzie McNaughton (John Woodworth) and Jordan McNaughton; his niece Debra Flanigan (Michael); and his nephews, Steve Lowe (Anne) and Scott Lowe.
