William leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. William’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew William will carry forward his memory in their hearts.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Wilbur and Kathryn Nettle Augst; wife: Jean Sloan Love-Augst; daughter: Kathryn (Rodney) Griffiths; grandchildren: Mary and Ryan Griffiths; stepsons: Brian Love, Christopher Love, and Shawn Sloan; step-grandchildren: Josh and Isabelle Robbins, Zachary (Tiffany), Libbey, Skyler, Jace, Lucien Apgar-Libbey, Casey Beeman, Damien, and Declan Sloan; sisters: Trish (Steve) Haskins and Kathleen (Bobby) Day; brothers: James and Tim Augst; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and doctors, nurses, social workers, and religious laypeople.

A Mass will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Cross (375 George Rd, Freeville, NY 13068).
