Though Joan may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joan touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Debra Parkot (late Brian), Maureen Weir (Mark), James Ryan and Carol Lucey (Timothy); and her cousin Karen Cummings (Ray). She was also cherished by 2 sisters and 1 brother and survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dietrich Funeral Home, Inc. (2480 Kensington Ave, Amherst, NY 14226). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Leo the Great Church (885 Sweet Home Rd, Amherst, NY 14226).
