He was predeceased by: his son John (Maureen); and his siblings, Michael (Shirley), James (Jean), George and Virginia Kerr.

He is survived by: his wife Adrienne Kerr; his sons, Kevin (Donna), Michael (Deborah), Timothy (Susan) and Daniel Kerr; his daughter-in-law Mary Kocsis; his sister Catherine "Kay" Gaunder (late John); and his sister-in-law Elaine Kerr. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
