While his presence may be gone, his impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Downey and Kathleen Downey; and his siblings, Kathleen Martin (Bernard) and Dennis Downey. He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Burke (Timothy) and Kathryn Werner (Brent); his grandchildren, Molly, Bridget, Erin, Maeve, Finley and Lochlann; and his brother Tim Downey (Maripat). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Christ the King Church (30 Lamarck Dr, Amherst, NY 14226).
