She is survived by: her husband Peter Hess; her children, Susan K. Hess (Liam Murphy) and Mark Hess; her grandchildren, Emily Murphy and Thomas Murphy; and her sister Dorothy J. Lane Bean. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
