It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Van Jeffery Zittel of East Aurora, New York, who passed away on September 3, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Van departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Van. Though Van may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Zittel and Laney Zittel; and his brother Randy Zittel (Meri Lou). He is survived by: his children, Kari Baker (John) and Brian Zittel (Bridgette); his grandchildren, Tyler Baker, Dominik Zittel, Laney Zittel, Toby Baker and Bree Baker; and his nieces and nephews, Morgan Hill (Michael) and Gail Zittel (Andrew Davis).
