He was predeceased by: his parents, Elred Sympson and Johanna Sympson; and his wife Patricia Colway Sympson. He is survived by: his daughter Veronica Sympson Krendel; his son-in-law Robert Krendel; his sister-in-law Mary H. Colway (Beck); and his granddaughter Caroline Krendel.
In recognition of his lifelong conservation efforts, Bob received the Arbor Day Foundation's 2010 Lawrence Enersen Award, honoring individuals who have made a lasting positive impact on their community's environment.
