He was predeceased by: his wife Janice; his father Malcolm Welch; and his brother David Welch. He is survived by: his mother Joan; his stepdaughter Tracey Muhl Shaw; and his sisters, Joanne Meyer, Therese Robinson and Marianne Hayes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
