He is survived by : his children, Ufuoma Oghenecaro Otobo, Aghogho Elo Otobo, Oheri Uyoyo Otobo and Ejiro Uzeozi Otobo; and his wife Esther Uroghome.
Two years before he retired, he was appointed as Ambassador-in-situ, by the government of the Federal Republic in Nigeria in recognition of his contribution to Nigeria's diplomacy and the foreign policy.
