He was also cherished by 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

“I was deeply sadden by the death of Dan. We would periodically chat in church on Sunday mornings. I knew of his struggles with his health issues. He was a friendly and courageous man. His faith in God was very strong and it likely sustained him throughout all his sufferings. He had the support of his family and friends who likely "coached" him along in his journey, his journey that lead to God. He is now looking down upon us with a smile on his face, loving and praying for us.”
