With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leatrice Merkley of Elbridge, New York, who passed away on March 16, 2026 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Leatrice departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Leatrice. Though Leatrice may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Youngs and Maude McNabb Youngs; and her husband David. She is survived by: her children, Lee A. Ferretti (Lou), Michele Anderson (John), Roberta Showens (Don), Dale Merkley (Victoria) and Albert Merkley. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
