He was predeceased by : his father Lawrence Smith. He is survived by : his mother Beverly Smith; his daughters, Victoria Grover (Jesse) and Jennifer Evans (Bill); his brothers, Larry Smith (Ann) and Cary Smith; and his grandchildren, Morgan Evans, Olivia Evans, Emily Evans, Katie Grover and Natalie Grover. He is also survived by 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Gary's family. We were next door neighbors for a long time. Gary offered to mow our extra lot between us. He was a great conversationalist and seemed to know everyone locally. Since we moved 12 years ago, he has never missed sending us a Christmas card, or us sending one to him. We still miss him, as a neighbor and friend. Mark and Linda Churchman”
