With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Evelyn M. Phenes (Elmira, New York), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 20, 2026 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Mochrie and Opal Barnes Mochrie (Holmes); and her mother-in-law Katherine Williamson. She is survived by: her brothers, Raymond Barnes and Edward G. Mochrie; her stepson John Bow Williamson; her boyfriend John Williamson; her sons, Michael Kimbell Jr. (Lauri), Earl James Phenes and Luke Phenes Sr.; her stepdaughters, Tayna Shaffer (Les), Karen VanNess (Randy) and Kimberly Williamson; and her grandsons, Luke Jr. and Lane Phenes. She is also survived by several grandchildren, other relatives, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
