He was predeceased by : his parents, John W. Rice and Hazel R. Rice (Germillion); his brother James W. Rice; his daughter-in-law Cathleen Rice; and his siblings-in-law, David R. Conklin, Robert Crowningshield and Martha L. Conklin.

He is survived by : his wife Judy Whittaker Rice; his children, Jason W. Rice of Elmira, Lilly M. Rice, Geoffery M. Rice of Asheboro, NC and Christian M. Stone; his brother Thomas M.; his sister-in-law Chris Rice of Pottstown, PA; his nieces and nephews, TJ and Keslee; his sister-in-law Cheryl Crowningshield of Erin; his nephew Shawn Crowningshield; his niece Stacie Bergquist (Dan); his great-niece Krystiana Lynch; his former life partner Sally Rice; and his pet Socks. He is also survived by his family and many friends.
