It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Lee Britt of Elmira, New York, born in Mims, Florida, who passed away on August 29, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Lynette Britt (Boles); his children, Sharmane Britt (Tasha) of Elmira, Tyrone Boles Britt of Elmira and Jayce Zuris of Elmira; his sisters, Emma Hall (Elmira), Cathrine Britt, Margaret Jean Britt (Titusville), Theresa Williams, Hattie Mae Britt and Cynthia Britt; his sisters-in-law, Wanda Ruth and Amanda Ruth of Elmira; his grandchildren, Janae Jenkins, Shamal Gladden, Jawanaza Wims, Aubrey-Faye and Ausha Jolynn Jenkins; his great grandchildren, Kariana, Rammorah Boles and Tyriah Zuris; and his siblings' children, Qua Mack of Elmira, Titia Geter of Elmira, Qi Jones of Elmira, Shermane, Renae, Sheratha Britt, John Britt (Florida) and James Hall (Elmira). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
