With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Leona J. Bennett (Elmira, New York), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth L. McClure and Leona M. McClure (Zinn-Carroll); her husband Durland Bennett; her children, Thomas A. Bennett and Pamela Sigmon Pitman; and her granddaughter Deborah Sigmon Cordry.
She is survived by: her children, James Bennett (Sheila) of Mill Hall, PA, Lucinda Bennett of Elmira, NY, Sue Canale (Mark) and NJ. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Olthof Funeral Home (1050 Pennsylvania Ave, Elmira, NY 14904). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Thomas Bennett Memorial Scholarship Fund at Dundee Central School, 55 Water Street, Dundee, NY 14837.
