With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Willem DeBruin of Elmira, New York, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Willem left this world on July 31, 2025 at the age of 92, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelis DeBruin and Maayke DeBruin (Veenhoof); his wives, Grietje (Versluis) and Nona (Casey); his sisters, Jannie Hofman (Hans) and Marie Zantman (Sjef); and his siblings-in-law, Ed, Leroy Denson, John Liddic, Abraham and Shari.
He is survived by: his children, Maria DeSanto (Thomas), Jacob (Terri), Cornelis (Shannon), Cathy Hammond (Bob), Luann Shellenberger, Daniel Lewis and Denise Lewis; and his siblings, Marinus, Alie, Maaike, Bartha Liddic, Johanna Wilcox (Joe), Cornelia Denson and Wilhelmina Dibble (Paul). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Pepper Funeral Home (578 Springbrook Dr, Canton, PA 17724).
