Donald J. Costa Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald J. Costa of Elmsford, New York, who passed away on October 6, 2025 at the age of 99. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Donald J. Costa to pay them a last tribute.
As we bid Donald farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Donald is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Costa and Frances Costa; and his wife Stella Makar of Yonkers, NY. He is survived by: his children, Robert, Suzanne and Lynda; his grandson Gregory; and his sister Nancy Untener of Rockland County. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ballard-Durand Funeral & Cremation Services (72 E Main St, Elmsford, NY 10523). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church (59 E Main St, Elmsford, NY 10523). A burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:59 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Westchester (https://spcawestchester.org) or the Susan G. Komen breast cancer non-profit organization.
