She was predeceased by: her son Mitchell James; her parents, Eleanor Brooks and Wilbur Brooks; and her brother Lealand Brooks. She is survived by: her husband David James; her daughter Susan Snead; her son-in-law Travis Snead; her granddaughter Ella Snead; and her siblings, Janice Brooks-Headrick (Charles Headrick), Michelle Gill (Dennis), Robert Brooks (Suzanne), Natalie Crounse (Thomas) and Paula Schofield.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Nancy's memory to Mercy House of the Southern Tier at 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
