It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lois M. VanDerwerken of Esperance, New York, born in Smithfield, Utah, who passed away on April 10, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Joseph Andrew and Margaret Isabella Gutke (Lewis); her husband James VanDerwerken of Central Bridge; her brothers, Worth, Ralph, Paul and Harold Gutke; and her daughter Julia.

She is survived by : her children, Debra Schaffer of Central Bridge, NY, Cynthia Taylor (Craig) of Rexburg, ID, J. Michael VanDerwerken (Tina) of Las Vegas, NV, Joseph VanDerwerken (Suzy) of Pittsgrove, NJ, Paul VanDerwerken (Leslie) of Esperance, NY, Ted VanDerwerken (Mayona) of Tooele, UT and Jay VanDerwerken (Angela) of Argyle, TX; and her sister-in-law Barbara Winn Gutke. She is also survived by 35 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.
