Though Shirley may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Shirley touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lyman Harris and Rena Harris. She is survived by: her husband Robert Root of Manlius; her children, Royce Root (Valda) of Fayetteville and Sherry Hand (George) of Preble; her grandsons, Robert Root of Fayetteville, George Hand of Chittenango, Richard Root and Gerred Hand of Chesterfield, VA; and her great grandchildren, Garrett Hand of Tully, Gerred Hand Jr. of Chesterfield, VA and Emily Root of Manlius. She is also survived by two nieces and one nephew.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Fabius Evergreen Cemetery.
