We announce the death of Edward Samuel VanDerWall of Fairport, New York, who passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 78. Edward will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward VanDerWall and Alice VanDerWall; his nephew David VanDerWall; his parents-in-law, Ta Hsi Wen and Yun Ting Lai; and his siblings-in-law, Manchau, Chinsheng Wen, Teresa Chen and Liyoon.
He is survived by: his wife Johanna; his siblings, Eugene (Marsha), Elaine Bennett (Rob) and Evan; his nephews, Sean Bennett (Maddie Cutrona) and Scott VanDerWall (Katie Worden); his great-nephews, Kayden and Colton VanDerWall; and his siblings-in-law, Hwa Yoon, Yao, Hsiu Yoon, Janice May Wang, Mann Yang, Yinshen and Senshen Wen.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Willard H. Scott Funeral Home (12 South Ave, Webster, NY 14580). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at the White Haven Memorial Park (210 Marsh Rd, Pittsford, NY 14580).
