It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ernest Acosta (Far Rockaway, New York), who passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgilio Acosta and Carmen Olmeda; and his son Ernest Michael. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Acosta (O'Leary); his daughters, Joyce Mammola (Ralph), Mary Boudreau (David), Catherine Miley (Thomas) and Ann Marie Williams (James); and his grandchildren, Meghan, Michael Mammola, Matthew, Marie Rose, Liam Miley, Aoibhinn, Eirnan and Mallaidh Williams.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Denis'. O'Connor Inc. (91-05 Beach Channel Dr, Far Rockaway, NY 11693). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis de Sales Church (129-16 Rockaway Beach Blvd, Belle Harbor, NY 11694).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ernie's memory to Camp ANCHOR, a camp for children and adults with special needs, where his beloved grandson, Matthew Miley, has been a joyful camper for many years — a cause very close to Ernie's heart.
