Stephen G. Schmeelk Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Stephen G. Schmeelk (Far Rockaway, New York), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 26, 2025 at the age of 72. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Stephen G. Schmeelk to pay them a last tribute.
As we bid Stephen farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Stephen is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He is survived by: his wife Toni Gallagher; his siblings, Elizabeth, Marrie, Virginia and Michael; and his nieces, Elizabeth Blencowe, Isabella and Ali Schmeelk.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Denis'. O'Connor Inc. (91-05 Beach Channel Dr, Far Rockaway, NY 11693). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Francis de Sales Church (129-16 Rockaway Beach Blvd, Belle Harbor, NY 11694). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. John's Cemetery (8001 Metropolitan Ave, Queens, NY 11379).
