He was predeceased by: his parents, Kathryn Kemper and Walter Matt; his brothers, F. X. Matt and Wally Matt; and his siblings-in-law, Frank Owens and Anne Marie Stein.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Kemper Matt, Jr. (Anne), Julie Matt Shea (Tim) and Conrad Alexander Matt (Kelley); his grandsons, Joseph Kemper Matt, III, Porter Hugh Matt, Conrad Barret Matt and Palmer Rippey Matt; his wife Angela Stein of New Canaan, CT.; his siblings, MaryLou Owens and Nick Matt (Susan); and his siblings-in-law, Linda Matt, Lillian Matt and Conrad Henry Stein, Jr.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel (7191 E Genesee St, Fayetteville, NY 13066). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Church (400 Salt Springs St, Fayetteville, NY 13066).
