He was predeceased by: his stepson Michael Pirro; his wife Natalie Sears (Borghi); his parents, Ernest "Ernie" Sears and Etta Sears; and his sister Sally.

He is survived by: his son Gary H. Sears of Guilderland; his granddaughter Hannah M. Sears of Mechanicville; and his girlfriend Natalie Hughes. He is also survived by his family, friends, neighbors.
